Managed Hosting Service Level Agreement (SLA)

This Service Level Agreement describes the service levels, responsibilities, and commitments for Managed Hosting services provided by BAS Technologies.

This SLA applies to customers who purchase Managed Hosting plans (Starter, Business, or Premium) from BAS Technologies. By using our hosting services, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Service Overview

BAS Technologies provides fully managed web hosting for small and mid-sized businesses, including WordPress and related web applications. Our services include server provisioning, monitoring, security updates, software updates, and support as described in your selected plan.

2. Uptime Commitment

BAS Technologies targets a minimum 99.9% network and server uptime each calendar month, excluding scheduled maintenance windows and circumstances described under Exclusions.

Uptime includes:

  • Availability of the hosting infrastructure (web server, database server, and network)
  • Ability to access the site over the public internet

Uptime does not include:

  • Customer or third-party application errors
  • Issues caused by faulty plugins, themes, or custom code
  • DNS issues outside BAS-controlled nameservers
  • Outages due to force majeure events (e.g., major internet outages, natural disasters)

3. Scheduled Maintenance

To maintain security and performance, BAS Technologies performs routine maintenance such as operating system updates, server reboots, and infrastructure improvements.

  • Whenever possible, maintenance is scheduled during off-peak hours.
  • Planned maintenance that may affect service availability is typically announced in advance.
  • Scheduled maintenance windows are excluded from uptime calculations.

4. Backups & Data Protection

BAS Technologies performs regular backups as part of our managed hosting service.

  • Daily backups for active hosting accounts (frequency may vary by plan).
  • Backups are retained for a rolling period (commonly 7–30 days depending on the environment).
  • Backup restore requests are completed on a best-effort basis and may require a maintenance window.

While we take reasonable care to protect your data, customers are encouraged to maintain their own off-site copies of critical content where appropriate.

5. Security & Updates

BAS Technologies will take reasonable measures to secure hosting environments and keep systems updated.

  • Firewall configuration and basic intrusion protection
  • Security patching of hosting infrastructure
  • WordPress core updates for managed sites
  • Plugin and theme updates as described in the selected plan (e.g., weekly for Business & Premium)

Customers are responsible for:

  • Using reputable themes and plugins
  • Maintaining secure passwords for all accounts
  • Informing BAS Technologies of suspected breaches or unusual activity

6. Support & Response Times

Support is available during published business hours (e.g., 8:00am–6:00pm Eastern Time, Monday–Friday), excluding public holidays, unless otherwise agreed. Premium plans may include extended or after-hours support.

Typical initial response targets:

  • Critical issues (site down, major outage): 2 business hours or less
  • High priority (serious degradation, security concern): 4 business hours
  • Standard issues (minor bugs, small updates): 1 business day
  • Low priority (non-urgent questions, minor requests): 2–3 business days

These are targets rather than guarantees, but BAS Technologies will make reasonable efforts to meet or exceed these response times.

7. Plan-Specific Services

8. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth hosting experience, customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date contact information
  • Designate a primary technical or administrative contact
  • Notify BAS Technologies of major site changes or launches
  • Adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws
  • Keep local copies of important files and content where necessary

9. Exclusions & Limitations

This SLA does not apply to:

  • Issues caused by customer or third-party code, plugins, or themes
  • Incidents resulting from customer misconfiguration or unauthorized changes
  • Downtime due to force majeure events beyond BAS Technologies’ reasonable control
  • Free or trial services, unless explicitly stated otherwise

BAS Technologies’ total liability for any downtime or service deficiencies is limited to the value of hosting fees paid for the affected period. No consequential or indirect damages are covered.

10. Changes to This SLA

BAS Technologies may update this SLA from time to time to reflect changes in services or best practices. The most current version will be made available on our website. Continued use of the service following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised SLA.
